Any New Years Resolutions?

This time of year, it’s common to do a status of the year that’s about to run out.

We like to look back and reflect on what was bad and what was good. While that might be good for evaluation, I like to take a look into next year and try to visualize what’s to come.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am by no means psychic, or even aspiring to be, but I do believe that it’s possible to gain a certain amount of control over, what’s to come.

If your biggest wish for 2012 is to get in shape, what’s stopping you? Only you, I’m afraid!

If we really want something, we make sure that it happens because we plan for it, we prioritize it and we work for it.

If you want make things happen in 2012, you need to work on it happening for you. Your first step after identifying your biggest goal is to break down the task in manageable tasks. Getting in shape is for example a task which seems a bit out of reach if you’re far from achieving it. But what if you set smaller goals on the way to your ultimate goal? For example: run Mondays and Thursdays, workout in the gym every Saturday. Maybe you want to eat a more healthy diet and you start creating a plan for how that is going to happen.

You see how this method would apply for most of your goals for 2012? Break down the goals in smaller size goals and you’ll see that it’s perfectly doable.
